In McKay's case, he claims that the White House and also a former so-called head of the US House of Representatives Ethics Committee tried to pressure him into investigating Democratic "voter tampering". Apparently when he did investigate (in secret to avoid unfounded allegations in the press about Democrats) he found nothing. Apparently, the White House and the former head of the Ethics committee didn't like that...so they fired him. McKay is a Republican that apparently takes his responsibility to the People and the Constitution more seriously than he wants to be part of the Bush/Republican attempts to drag our country into the mud.
